"Me and 5 of my friends visited Madeira in September/October 2012. While we were planning our trip we found very useful this website and there was very attractive suggestion to stay in Madeira - Sofia’s house.

We arrived at our destination late at night, but in spite of this, Mrs. Sofia met us personally. She warmly and softly showed us the house: four bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen with everything needed for a comfortable home, living room, nice bower outside (where we then had barbecue parties) and so on.

The rooms offer beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean.

This house is located in a very convenient location in terms of tourism: not far from this place begins Levada walking trails, seven minute drive on a good road you arrive in Calheta - small city, were you can find Gas Station, big supermarket with a wide variety of local goods and, best of all, the only sandy beach of the island.

So if you really want to spend holiday time with pleasure you should choose Sofia’s house. In conclusion we would like to thank Sophia, which was very helpful in organizing our wonderful holiday in Madeira. Andrey & Co."

"Une belle maison dans un coin de paradis sur terre! Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour ! Sofia est trés accueillante, disponible et sympathique. Sa grande maison est meublée avec beaucoup de goût et est d''un grand confort. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le village (en dehors du tumulte de la vie moderne), la terrasse et son point de vue magnifique sur la mer, la chambre d''enfant et tous les équipements pour les bébés. "C'est une maison très agréable, spacieuse, très bien équipée, dans le village le plus paisible et ensoleillé de l''île. On a adoré manger sous les treilles de vignes avec vue sur la mer. "My wife, 2 year old daughter, and I spent a week at Sofia's place. It was very special and I look forward to staying there again soon.

From the moment we arrived the stress we carried from the mainland was released upon meeting the owner Sofia. She is a warm, kind, and friendly woman and made sure we felt at home in her beautiful village of Jardim do Mar.

The home was wonderful. It was clean, private, quiet, had a view of the ocean, a nice sunny patio, and had all of the amenities we needed.

We enjoyed that the village for the most part was car free and everything we needed was within a short walk. We did need the car to explore the rest of the island, but it was nice to park the car and walk through the town.

The home was nicely located and we were able to walk through the village down to the ocean with our daughter and did not have to worry about oncoming traffic.

We also liked being able to walk down to Joe's pub and take in the local scene. For us to have a quiet and peaceful village to stay in was something quite special and I would recommend it to anyone."
